WHAT'S ON – Morning Melodies
Niël Rademan and Rika Vermeulen
The Gift of Music
Sondheim 80th
Aviva and Friends in Concert
NIËL RADEMAN AND RIKA VERMEULEN
Wednesday, 15 September, at 10:30 (Theatre)

Niël and Rika have been working together for a number of years in a collaboration that started as a friendship and later developed into an exhilarating duo.
They staged their own Afrikaans cabaret, 'n Boerseun en 'n Blond, in 2007, and played to packed houses throughout the Western Cape for two years. They collaborated on productions such as the Suidoosterfees Gala Concert for 2009 and 2010, Die Kaapse Kabaret for the Suidoosterfees, Woordfees and KKNK in 2009, and, in 2010, Delicious Divas for the Suidoosterfees and Woordfees. In 2009 they released a Christmas CD entitled Christmas isn't Christmas.
For Morning Melodies at the Baxter, Niël and Rika have designed another cabaret which is sure to charm audiences. Niël's trained voice has a warm, chocolate quality, he's an accomplished pianist, and he can hold his own on the accordion. Rika is a very experienced accompanist and pianist in her own right who does not keep traditionally quiet at the piano, but becomes actively involved in the show, as you will see.
This pair has so much fun on stage it becomes contagious. With a lot of humour, and a sprinkle of sadness, they move audiences' hearts and minds in the style of the classical cabarets of Germany, France and the Netherlands.
Book online through Computicket.
