The Baxter Theatre Centre is proud to announce its most ambitious and exciting production in recent years - a Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (Germany) and Baxter Theatre coproduction (world premiere) - opening the Theater der Welt Festival and livestreamed from The Baxter on 17 and 18 June 2021, to Düsseldorf and the world.
Booking is now open for the modern classic, Marcel Puig’s extraordinary play, Kiss of the Spider Woman, directed by the multi-award winning Sylvaine Strike, at The Baxter Golden Arrow Studio from 5 to 19 June 2021 at 7pm, with Saturday matinees at 2pm.
The 11th annual Baxter Zabalaza Theatre Festival, from 20 to 27 March 2021, will showcase 24 fresh, vibrant productions from all over the Western Cape and one from Gauteng, featuring over 200 hundred participants, with all COVID-19 protocols in place, as regulated at Level 1 during the national lockdown.
With the rapid rise in COVID-19 cases in the Western Cape, The Baxter Theatre has taken the decision to suspend all performances over the festive season from 19 December 2020 to end January 2021. This is part of The Baxter’s commitment as a responsible theatre, to help fight the spread of the disease.
